Bulldog Cheerleading

Do you have school spirit? Would you like to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and dance? Come join Bulldog Cheerleading! Learn jumps, stunts, dance and cheers. We will perform a cheer/dance  routine at the end of the semester. Go Bulldogs!!!

Come and learn the basics of tumbling!  Bulldog Gymnastics is a progression-based class where skills are broken down into small steps to insure easy, skill-building success.  Gymnastics is great for building self-esteem, strong bones, and a healthy heart.

Dance Skills Class

Come dance with Ms. Tina! Her dance class is designed to be a skill building program.  Dance Skills will offer your child technique in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and modern dance. The class will also include flexibility, conditioning, tumbling, turns, and leaps! All skill levels are welcome!

Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do teaches basic self-defense.  All forms of martial arts are utilized during instruction.  This course is open to both students and parents.  Dennis Zehr has been at Peoria Academy as the Tae Kwon Do Instructor for 15 years and received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1987 and 6th Degree Masters in 2006. **TKD is available to Pre-K students pending a screening through Master Zehr

Yoga For You!

Come and learn about yoga for kids. Yoga has many benefits. It enhances flexibility, strength, and coordination. In addition, it helps with concentration, calmness, focus and relaxation. We will learn poses, partner poses and group poses. Fun themes will be implemented each week. Themes will be based on books, movies or characters. Namaste!!

Chess

Chess is a classic game that develops spatial thinking and strategies to build focused concentration.  This class is geared for all levels of chess players.  Beginners learn basic game rules and opening tactic moves.  Intermediate and advanced players learn sophisticated combinations and strategies and advanced opening moves. Piano Lessons: Individual

Throughout this course, students are introduced to the piano keyboard, become acquainted with the theory behind how and why music works as it does.  At the appropriate grade level, students are encouraged to participate in the IESA Solo and Ensemble Contest.  Most of all, the student is encouraged to let the music they have learned flow from their heart… where true music is expressed and comes to life.

Ukulele Ensemble

This ensemble group is prefect for the student who already plays ukulele and would like some performance experience! We will learn traditional ukulele songs as well as contemporary songs on the ukulele in a group setting. We will learn to play as a group and perform our ensemble  during and at the end of the semester.

Ceramics

Come play with clay each week with Ms. Rock. In this ceramics class students will practice the basics of ceramics like hand building, score and slip, coil pots, and slab work. Glitter Gang

Unicorns, fairies, cupcakes, glitter…this class is for kids who love the sparkly side of life! Join Ms. Rock for an awesome class full of fanciful crafts. Students will make everything from glitter slime to fairy crowns, unicorn bath bombs to sprinkle lip balm, Butterfly bath jellies to mermaid candy…need I say more? Harry Potter

Have you ever wanted to step inside the Harry Potter books you love? In this class students will get a glimpse inside the wizarding world by making crafts, tasting treats, and getting creative all by the inspiration of HP. Students will participate in activities like potion and wand making, make and taste wizardly treats like butter beer and chocolate frogs, and even practice creative writing as “students of Hogwarts”. This class will be fun and imaginative for everyone who joins!

iPhone Photography

iPhone photography is everywhere today…but do you know the secrets to good iPhone photography? In this class students will learn the basics of good photography such as exposure, shutter speed, and lighting. We will also explore and learn about the different tools on the phone to optimize student’s creativity and photographic skill. After each finished project we will print the photos on high quality photo paper. *Please note: Students DO NOT need an iPhone to participate in this class, Androids will work as well, but students will need use of an iPhone, Android, iPad or iTouch during class and outside of class in order to take photos. Students will require access to the app store, but only to download a FREE photography app. Photos will also be uploaded to the PA Art Instagram Account and Artsonia.

Storytime Art

Books open our imaginations to worlds of endless possibilities! What better way to spark creativity than combining the storybook world with the world of art. Tutoring

Professional Tutoring: Individual

In an effort to make tutoring more comprehensive and tailored to your student’s needs and schedule, this year we have opened tutoring as an a la carte program. This new a la carte program will allow you to choose how much or how little tutoring to provide for your student. You can choose your tutoring instructor and specific days and times that you would like tutoring. It is your choice to sign up for the entire tutoring semester, every other week, or here and there for extra practice or tests. Your account will be billed accordingly.

Tutoring will be offered in half hour increments.  Only one student per half hour.
